“A Christmas Carol”… Re-Imagined

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol has returned to the Wells Theatre stage.

This is A Christmas Carol‘s 15th season at the Virginia Stage Company and for the past 6 years had been directed by none other than our very own Patrick Mullins, the Associate Artistic Director. Now, you may be thinking, “A Christmas Carol? That is so overdone and old.” Think again – this year it has been completely re-adapted by its director. “How” you may ask… well let me tell you…

The set is entirely NEW. No more stories in the attic. With houses and rooftops moving in and out of the set, the show takes on a whole new feel. Don’t believe me? Check it out!

There is MORE MUSIC – who doesn’t love music, especially that of the Christmas variety. Ever heard of the hurdy gurdy? It makes its Virginia Stage Company debut on the set of A Christmas Carol. What else is included in the “MORE MUSIC” category? Pre-show entertainment! That’s right – our Carolers are sure to get you into the Christmas spirit by serenading you with some holiday joy.
